Aloha and Mahalo

Didi’s gone and I needed a break so I booked a trip to Kauai.   Before I left however I found out what happened to her.   My long time vet Dr Kent from Westside Hospital for Cats did an autopsy.   Didi had inflammation on the interior walls of her heart and a blood clot killed her.   Poor baby.   She had feline herpes since birth and was in a flare up when she died.   She took lysine for years but it wasn’t enough to quell the virus.  I never would have thought tit would affect her heart and kill her.   Never.   The only good part is that she didn’t suffer at all.   Did did not suffer well.

Going to Kauai was wonderful.  It’s my third time on Kauai but I’ve been to Maui and used to live on Oahu (Big Island is next).    Hawaii in general is great and a wonderful place to get away and relax.  The trade winds and sound of the ocean put me in a trance and I just cant help but be OK.

The condo was ocean front and I woke up every day at 6am and saw the sunrise.  First light.   The water at tunnels was like a pool.  You could see your shadow on the bottom of the ocean.  I think I swam for like an hour.   I also took advantage of the hotel pool a little.   Wish I did it more but maybe next time.  Next year.   Next July will be better than this one.

Aloha and mahalo.
