Kat

I got to shoot Kat again.  This time she asked if I could shoot her raw and edgy.  So we met down in Venice.  My original idea was to go to the Venice Art Walls.  They’re awesome.  Originally they were just leftover walls from the Venice Pavillion from the 60’s.   Graffiti just appeared on these leftover walls on a grim part of the beach.  Then the City got involved and now it’s an actual public art insallation that changes every so often.  So you never know what you’ll get.

We didn’t actually get outside until right at sunset at 7:30pm.  Luckily I had my 580Ex flash and my IKAN led lights.   Kat’s friend and hairdresser Matt ended up being my photo assistant and held the lights while we shot in pitch darkness.   We roamed the streets trying to find cool walls and never did make it down to the beach.

Kat is a great singer, songwriter, artist.   She is also a fun and easy model and is great to shoot.   I think her tat collection has grown a bit since I saw her last which makes for a colorful canvas.
