Busy weekend for me. Gearing up for the big wedding of Abdias and Yadira. Practice practice! So 10am Saturday morn Haydee and I went to the church and met Yadira. We wanted to get a feel for the church and the ceremony so we can envision it in our mind. The church was a real throwback the San Fernando Valley 50’s style architecture. Wooden ceiling in a beautiful arch over the pews. Big stage, grand piano and two side aisles. There are a few small buildings scattered around the property. Great place for a wedding and I can’t wait for the big day!
Later that day, after I saw Hilary Swank at Samy’s Camera (I didn’t even notice her when she walked right by me but people were oogling her at the Hassleblad counter so then I noticed) – anyhoo, later I met Marissa in the park by the Grove and we caught up with our stories had a fun time shooting. Marissa is the best and I really love working with her (see here and here). I owe her big time for indulging me. She’s awesome.
Then on Sunday I met up with Kat and did a studio shoot. I used lights this time. The one’s I bought 2 years ago to prepare for the Fox Holiday card but never used. So I actually opened the box for the first time Saturday night. They’re pretty cool. So Kat is a beautiful young lady. Great singer, songwriter and musician. She had a baby recently (see here and here) and looks great now! You would never know she had a baby 3 months ago. Incredible!
I’m still striving to take better photos and learn something each time. My biggest challenge is to slow down and take my time. Next time.
