Video: Comin’ In Hot

I made a music video.  Not my first one.   I’ve done the Fox Music holiday videos, one for my friend Paula’s band Lonnie Starlet and one for Eleanor Dubinsky for a song Dave wrote called “Love Is”.   The Fox videos are getting to be bigger and bigger productions every year and they are a lot of […]

Year End Special

I’ve been recovering all day. Exhausted!  Katy’s on her way back to NC. How lucky am I to watch her experience Los Angeles. The trip was great. We made a list of things to do and pretty much accomplished everything on the list. Katy was enthusiastic and willing to try everything. Katy’s a great kid […]

Katy

My niece Katy got a trip to Los Angeles for her birthday!  So we flew back to LA from North Carolina the day after Christmas.   We’ve been running her ragged as we like to do with visitors. We mapped out the usual places to go visit and have been seeing them every day.   The Grove, […]

Swimming With Sharks

There’s a really nice coffee shop on La Brea called Graffiti Sublime Coffee. It’s in the old City restaurant space. You know, the one by the Mary Sue Milikien and Susan Feniger?   No?   Well it was a long time ago. Anyhoo, Graffiti is a huge white space with great coffee and sweets.  The space […]

Headshot

Becky asked me if I’d like to take some headshots of her son Chris.   He’s an actor and attends a performing arts high school.  I’ve met Chris before but hadn’t seen him for years.  I think he was like 9 years old when I saw him last.   Well he turned 15 on Sunday, so it’s […]

Walking

Been getting into walking a lot lately.  I already walk to work every couple of weeks.  It’s a good walk.  Takes me about 45-50 minutes there and a bit longer back (uphill on the way back).  I love it.   You see so many things while walking than in a car.    And, like working out, it […]

Speechless

Marissa and I went out on a photo shoot this morning.   We met at Maison Martin Margiela on Little Santa Monica Blvd in Beverly Hills.   I really love the way the wind makes this building come alive.  It doesnt really translate in still photos but it definitely is a cool background.  We next went to […]

Quitting Time

Just got a new lens.  I lurve it!  16-55mm/2.8.  It’s awesome!  I cannot wait to try it out.  I cannot wait to see what it looks like on the beach.    Here’s one of my first shots.  This is on the way to my car after work.   Love it!

Elaine

We met at the Big Pink Building on Melrose.  A location I’ve wanted to shoot for a long time.  It’s just soooo cool lookin’!   I told her to wear all black for contrast.  Little did I know she’d come with props too!   Awesome!   Fun morning and I like the pictures too.  Elaine was so fun […]

Marissa M.

I have been mourning the loss of the Mann National movie theater since they bulldozed it in 2007.  It opened in 1970 as an iconic symbol of 70’s modernism and large screen goodness.  The lot on the corner of Lindbrook and Gayley has been vacant since the theater was torn down.   I walk by the […]

Balloons

We had a farewell party for Mike in the control room of the Newman scoring stage. White balloons were everywhere. Goodbye!

View to A New Year

I love the view from my desk. I never get tired of it. I get to see the entire Wilshire Corridor in Westwood. Seems every couple of years there’s a new building going up but it’s just beautiful. What a nice way to start 2010!

Bottega Louie

Wow, Bottega Louie downtown is fantastic. It feels like an old world, New York/Italian style place. There’s a bakery and restaurant. Dave and I went the day after Thanksgiving. Of course downtown LA was not very busy on that day but lucky for us we parked right in front of Bottega Louie and had a […]

OMG – Best Dessert In The World

Pizzeria Mozza’s Caramel Copetta with Marshmallow Sauce & Spanish Salted Peanuts. The peanuts were WARM and salty and nutty. The copetta was cool and creamy and had a great caramel flavor. The marshmallow sauce was soft, fluffy and did not get mucked up like you’d think a marshmallow would. It stayed soft and creamy. Plus […]
